Located of the south-west coast of British Columbia, it is the largest island in the Pacific Ocean east of New Zealand. Vancouver Island has the warmest year round climate in Canada, making it a vacation and recreational paradise like no other.     

Vancouver Island is 460 km long, 100 km at its widest point, and has an area of 32,134 square km! Needless to say, you could spend a week or a lifetime exploring Vancouver Island. The island is blanketed by beautiful temperate forests.  The Vancouver Island Ranges is a mountainous spine that runs the length of the island. There are pristine creeks, rivers and lakes of all size and descriptions across Vancouver Island.  Not to be forgotten Vancouver Island is home to some of the most spectacular beaches on the planet.

The population of Vancouver Island is approximately 750,000 people. Nearly half of those people live on the very southern tip of the island in British Columbia’s capital city of Victoria.  Other notable towns on the island include: Duncan, Nanaimo, Port Alberni, Parksville, Courtenay, and Campbell River.
